Can You Make Money with Clickbank – Is This Platform Legit?

Can You Make Money with Clickbank - Is This Platform Legit?

One of the questions people ask frequently is Can You Make Money With Clickbank?

The reason for this is Clickbank has a reputation for being a major player in the affiliate marketing arena.

Also, many are wondering if Clickbank is the right platform that will help them build their online business.

The platform that I highly recommend has helped tens of thousands profit consistently from their own online business.

Here’s a fact: Affiliate programs are one of the main ways that top earners are making their money online.

Therefore, the question Can You Make Money With Clickbank has much to do with the platform itself, as we shall see.

Clickbank Is Saturated With Low-Quality Products

One of the reasons you’re reading this post is you’re thinking of making your online fortune through Clickbank?

If I were you, I’d think again.

When I started affiliate marketing a few years ago, Clickbank was one of the first affiliate networks I became familiar with.

However, I quickly learned that it’s not a platform that promotes outstanding products with high affiliate commissions.

Clickbank’s problem is it’s oversaturated with poor-quality, low-paying affiliate programs that are absolutely horrible.

Clickbank is home to some of the shadiest, over-hyped products I’ve ever seen!

There are a FEW good products worth promoting on Clickbank, however, they’re hard to find.

I’ve reviewed many of these products here on this blog, BIG Online Profits.

My point is this: Associating your online presence or brand with shady Clickbank products could prove to be a death sentence for your business!

I would think that’s not something you’d be proud to put your name behind.

Can You Make Money with Clickbank? Is It’s Platform Legit?

The short answer to that question is yes – you can make money with Clickbank products.

The problem is 90% of the products offered on the Clickbank Marketplace are low-quality offerings.

In other words, about 90% of the products are garbage.

Therefore, you can make money with Clickbank, however, it’s questionable if you can create a consistent income month after month, year after year.

I’ve known some online marketers who do well with Clickbank selling garbage products who don’t care about selling garbage products, as long as they make a profit.

Frankly, I care about the quality of what I’m promoting to my audience!

The huge problem with selling Clickbank products is although you may make money, you also get a lot of refund requests as well.

Once people see that the product is garbage, many of them request refunds.

One positive aspect of Clickbank is they are quick to process refunds when requested.

Therefore, making money with Clickbank is not something I would recommend.

What I DO recommend is to find the best platform that can help you learn how to make great money with affiliate marketing.

That’s what I would recommend.

Nonetheless, if you are still interested in selling products on Clickbank

Basically, with Clickbank, you have two options:

  1. Learn how to sell your own products on Clickbank
  2. Learn how to promote products through affiliate marketing.

This is done by becoming a Clickbank vendor.

For many, creating their own digital product can be intimidating.

Many people have earned a very comfortable living promoting their products on Clickbank.

However, what about those who do not want to create their own products?

My Areas of Concern With Clickbank

Many affiliates have voiced concern about a large number of sub-standard products on Clickbank.

It seems as though anyone can write an ebook and get it published in only a few days on Clickbank.

The quality of published affiliate programs in the Clickbank marketplace is a testament to the weak process for approving products on the platform.

Clickbank’s owners seem to be more concerned with quantity over quality and want to get as many products on their platform as possible.

Another area of concern is since there are so few quality products on Clickbank, the competition to promote the half-decent ones is fierce.

Unfortunately, newbies will not be able to compete with established, high-powered affiliates who already dominate the search engine results.

Here is my personal view:

Clickbank overall is an average affiliate network with far too many sub-standard products tarnishing a once solid, well-established reputation.

Know this for sure: “newbies” will not have an easy time of it without a high degree of patience and effort.

Clickbank Marketplace: Scam Or For Real?

The answer to the question Can You Make Money With Clickbank is: Yes, you can, but it’s going to be difficult.

Clickbank is not a scam.

The platform itself is a legit platform.

However, the Clickbank website itself needs to be upgraded.

It looks like a relic from the ’80s. It hasn’t had an overhaul in decades!

Nonetheless, some online marketers have experienced good results promoting Clickbank.

Additional Resources

The bottom line is this: Clickbank is a legitimate platform.

Although Clickbank is NOT a scam, you will have to really research the products offered in order to separate the half-decent products from the garbage products.

However, I DO NOT personally recommend the Clickbank marketplace for 3 reasons:

  1. There are too many garbage products on the Clickbank platform
  2. The platform has not been updated in years
  3. I’m NOT HAPPY with the owners not cleaning up some of these bad products

If you want to make money online through affiliate programs offered on ClickBank, be VERY careful and check out every product you’re interested in promoting.

My thought is that a platform like Wealthy Affiliate would be a better fit in that regard.

However, what if your MAIN interest is in product creation?

Can You Make Money With Clickbank? You Decide

Therefore, my conclusions are as follows:

Clickbank is really designed for marketers who want to create digital products.

My observation: the best people for Clickbank are intermediate to advanced internet marketers.

Individuals with a working knowledge of affiliate marketing and SEO who want to create and sell digital products.

If you come under the following:

  1. Learning for the first time how to become an affiliate marketer
  2. An intermediate marketer who isn’t earning what you want to earn

You should definitely check out the platform that I highly recommend to help you learn how to make money online.

What I really love about my #1 recommendation is there are NO UPSELLS and no surprise expenses.

Basically, everything you need to build your business is included so you can focus on what’s important.

Also, you can even try out Wealthy Affiliate FREE for 7 days, and you don’t need to give your credit card information!

Get a solid foundation with internet marketing with Wealthy Affiliate.

That’s my two cents worth…

Will come click be a different one? I do not want to lose money anymore again. If it does brings me money, then losing a little at first make sense.

  2. Does Clickbank University teach you how to go after good quality programs to recommend as an affiliate? I realize it is important if you want to keep your trust with your audience. On top of that, I’d be concerned about chargebacks if I am promoting a product from click bank that has a high refund rate.

    1. Hey Jessie,

You REALLY have to search well to find good quality products on Clickbank.

When you look at the product profile, if the GRAVITY is low, that means it’s a crappy product and the possibility of chargebacks is high.

If the gravity is HIGH, that means you’re promoting a good product and the chance of chargebacks is low.

I can’t emphasize enough the need to really research a Clickbank product before you promote it.

  3. Hi Howard,

I have registered with Clickbank as an affiliate about a year ago and never used them.  I go busy with other things.  I decided to look into Clickbank a bit more and find your review very informative.  One thing I hate are Upsells.  I was considering doing their course, but it seems like it will be a waste of time.  I will never use their website builder.  I am glad you explained the limitations.  You saved me a ton of time.

I want to create many streams of income using various different affiliate programs and networks.  I had a quick look at your Wealthy Affiliate review and this seems like a really good platform.  All I want to know are there any upsells at all and do I need to provide my credit card details when I sign up as a free member?

Will I be able to generate many different streams of income using the Wealthy Affiliate products?

Thanks for an excellent Clickbank review!

    1. Hey Rika,

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

You have come to the right conclusion regarding Clickbank.

As far as Wealthy Affiliate is concerned, there are 0 upsells – as a member myself I can say that with certainty.

What I would recommend is this:

      1) Become a member of Wealthy Affiliate and create your first website through their platform.

      2) Go through the training – do not skip around

      3) Continue to apply what you are learning to your ONE website – get that one site rock solid FIRST, then create another website and apply all the information you learned. Since and repeat.

When I first started with Wealthy Affiliate I was in the “multiple streams of income” mindset. I’ve learned that there are many members at Wealthy Affiliate who make great money with just ONE website.

There are also members who make outstanding money with multiple websites as well.

I have found that it’s best to FOCUS on ONE website at a time if you want multiple streams of income. Each website is a income stream. You want each website to be fully optimized to get you the best results possible.

That’s what Wealthy Affiliate does best!

  5. Very well written review.  I to have taken a close look at Clickbank University but at the end of the day found quite a bit more value at a better price with Wealthy Affiliate.  As for Clickbank.  You are also right that many of the products are poor or spam-my.  However if you do your homework you can find some real gems that can make you a lot of money.

    1. Hey Dale,
