Is Norwex Legit – Eco-Friendly Cleaning Products MLM Review
Norwex allows regular people to earn money by marketing their environment-friendly products at in-home shopping parties. However, some are still asking, “Is Norwex Legit?” If it is, would it be worth your time and money to sign up as a “consultant”?
Fortunately, we have good news for you. Norwex isn’t a fraudulent business or pyramid strategy. It’s a legitimate organization with valid products that have been well-received for years. I can honestly tell you I use some Norwex products at home.
However, I am not a consultant, and I do not host parties. You can also earn money as a Norwex representative. Let’s examine the Norwex company and the opportunity.
Is Norwex Legit – How Norwex Got Started
Bjorn Nicolaisen founded Norwex in 1994 as Eidsvoll Miljoprodukter. It primarily functions as an MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) company. The company’s main specializations are environmentally friendly personal care and cleaning products.
In 1999, Canada saw the successful launch of the company’s Enviro Products. After that, Norwex expanded its operations quickly into Australia in 2008 and the US in 2011. Presently, Norwex makes $65-120 million in revenues yearly. It hires more than 500 full-time workers. More than 90,000 advisors or sales reps work with them worldwide.
Where’s the Earning Opportunity?
Their business provides advisors the capability to earn income from the below methods:
- Sell products (or retail sales)
- Recruit people under you who sell directly (network marketing)
Selling their products is downright simple. You host ‘in-home shopping parties’ demonstrating the benefits of Norwex products over
When it comes to “recruiting” new sales representatives, this is where the “network marketing” aspect comes to the forefront. The main idea is to recruit people not just to sell them products but so that they can also recruit others under them. This will allow you to earn money off of the products that they sell. By doing so, you build a network of people under you. This ensures that you earn more money than the advisors under you earn. This is a typical multi-level marketing business model.
If everything goes according to plan, you don’t have a limit on the amount you earn. You make more and more money as you sell more and more products. This would also be true for your team. It’s all about the hard work you and your teams are ready to invest in. This is the same for any business. You can always find the details of the Norwex fee plan on their website. It is referred to as the ‘Success Builder.’ I’ll be taking you through its details shortly. Before that, let us take a careful look at their products.
Norwex Cleaning Products – Are They Worth It?
The company is most renowned for its advanced and eco-friendly cleaning commodities. Take the example of EnviroCloth. It dries or wet clean without using complex chemicals. Soak the cloth using water and wipe it on the required surface to clean it.
What you get is a surface that is 99% bacteria-free. You can use this cloth on almost any surface, including bathroom or kitchen floors, and even glass. It can be used anywhere you use your normal mop or cloth to clean surfaces. The EnviroCloth’s microfiber fabric physically cleans the germs off the surface you want to be cleaned.
Over time, the germs die on the fabric itself. The main idea of using their products is to keep your house clean and bacteria-free. You do this without the use of destructive chemicals. This is good for you, your household, and the environment.
Aside from these cleaning cloths, Norwex offers other cleaning products when water is insufficient. There’s cleaning paste, laundry detergent, and bathroom cleaners. In conformity with their environment-friendly branding, these products are seemingly less detrimental to the natural world than regular ones. Norwex embraces the concept of improving the quality of life for their products. This presents more favorable circumstances for earning as an adviser of their products.
Although the initial expense of Norwex products is higher than what you would pay at most retail establishments, given how easily and quickly they work, and how long they last, they really seem like a great value. What makes Norwex products such a great value is that the only additional item needed in some cases is water.
Becoming A Consultant
If you want to become an Adviser, visit their website and then click through their “join” tab. You can put in your referrer’s name or enter your postcode. This will allow Norwex to link you up with an adviser in your location. From this point, you merely follow the instructions for registering and becoming an adviser.
The Starter Kit costs $200, including tax, to become an adviser. There is also $9.99 in mailing and delivery charges. Nevertheless, you don’t pay the Start Package charges upfront. You only pay the mailing and delivery charges. If you can generate more than or equal to $2,000 during the initial 90 days, you won’t pay the Starter Package’s $200 fees. You can keep it.
Alternatively, if you do not meet that target during the initial 90 days, you will be charged $200, excluding tax. In addition, a $9.99 Consultant Office Plus monthly fee will be charged. This fee is for the back-office services, which provide you with the tools for running your business activities.
Is Norwex A Pyramid System or A Scam?
No. This isn’t a pyramid system or scam. It is a legally established company from the 1990s that sells tangible and genuine products. People will continue to buy their products in the future.
A pyramid system involves registration fees, there aren’t real products, and it all involves recruiting others who then recruit others. This process keeps on going on and on. The pyramid system is an endless chain of recruiting rather than selling tangible products to actual customers. None of this would apply to Norwex.
Regarding the concept of MLM businesses, Norwex is legitimate. They have tangible products, honorable marketing practices, and are product-focused on benefiting the environment. However, there are some eye-opening statistics regarding multi-level marketing you need to be aware of:
- According to FTC, 99% of all MLM participants lose money
- The chances of profiting by starting your own small business are 38% more than by joining an MLM
- The profitability rate of running an online business is 10% – 20% higher than the profitability rate of joining an MLM
- According to the AARP Foundation, 47% of MLM participants lose money, and 27% make no money whatsoever
- Among the 26% who earn a profit, 53% of them earn less than $5000 a year
- 39% of MLM participants quit because pitching products and services to friends and family jeopardized their relationships
- At least 50% of MLM reps quit within one year after joining an MLM, and 95% quit within 10 years
- 75% of those who have joined and left an MLM state that they would never join another MLM in their life
- A 2018 poll of 1049 MLM reps across various companies found that most of them make less than 70 cents an hour,
- 20% of them never made a sale
- 60% of them had earned less than $500 in sales over the past five years
- 32% of them acquired credit card debt to finance their MLM involvement
Warning: The RED Flags of Multi-Level Marketing Schemes and Scams Online
It would be best to watch out for these things with multi-level marketing companies, as they are red flags you should not ignore. Taking note of these eight signs can save you considerable time and money.
1. The Company Does NOT Offer a FREE Trial
This is a big one to look out for. Many MLMs selling retail products are overpriced and may have yet to be rigorously tested before entering the marketplace. Most information products are worthless, and if you could jump directly into those products and “try them out” before investing in them, you would never invest in low-quality substances. That is why they hide behind a payment. If their information is so good, should they not prove it by giving you a taste?
Does the Norwex MLM Opportunity Offer a Free Trial? NO. They do offer free samples of various products
2. Companies That Don’t Clearly Outline Pricing
If you go to a sales page for a product and they don’t disclose the price clearly, you will likely get “duped.” Any legitimate company will offer clarity on pricing and have a pricing page on their website. MANY companies in this industry HIDE their pricing; it is unethical, and it will almost certainly scam you. Also, if the company charges hundreds or even thousands of dollars for their products or for joining their business “opportunity,” it should be of concern.
Does The Norwex MLM Opportunity Outline Clear Pricing? YES. The products are more expensive than at most retail establishments, which turns many potential customers away.
3. MLM Companies That Use Video Sales Pages / Squeeze Pages
If you visit a “sales page” and the only thing you see on it is exaggerated promises of quick money, this will almost certainly be an expensive, overpriced scam. This marketing tactic is used to HIDE pricing and hide the product itself. They typically ask for your email or a small payment, and then you will be put through an extensive and expensive sales funnel.
Does the Norwex MLM opportunity Use a Video Sales Page? YES
4. Companies That Don’t Have a High TrustPilot Rating
Norwex.com has an average Trustpilot rating of 3.0, and Norwex.co.uk has a poor Trustpilot rating of 2.6. Trustpilot is where you should get genuine consumer reviews about products/services you plan on buying. If a company doesn’t exist on this website or has a rating lower than 4.5 out of 5 stars, you may want to reconsider joining seriously. There are going to be better programs and services available without the financial risk. What I find strange is how few ratings Norwex has on Trustpilot. You would think if the products are as good as people say they are, there would be a ton of ratings verifying this. I find it mysterious why Norwex has so few Trustpilot ratings!
Does Norwex Have a High TrustPilot Rating? NO
5. Multi-Level Marketing Companies That Sell “Riches” Without Telling You the Process
If you are being pushed by the idea that you are going to be “rich” or that you’ll be able to “make money in a short period ” without telling you what you will be doing to earn this money (in a specific way), then they are selling the “sizzle”…and chances are there is no “steak” after you make your purchase. Avoid programs these types of programs like the plague.
Is the Norwex Income opportunity confusing? YES – most multi-level marketing compensation plans are confusing
6. Companies Without an Easy Way to Contact Them
They are hiding behind something if you don’t have a direct way to contact the company to answer questions about their program. That is the first clue, and I recommend you test it. If the company has an email address, email it. If you don’t get a response within 48 hours at most, then that is probably the sort of help you can expect in the future.
Can you quickly contact a Norwex company representative? NO
7. Companies That Don’t Offer Direct Access/Communication with the Owners
Who owns the product? Can you get help and communicate with them directly? If NOT, then this program is more than likely in the business of taking your money. CEOs in the opportunity world who are unwilling to communicate with their customers directly have a “too good for you” mentality, which should be avoided.
Can you contact the actual owner of Norwex directly? NO
8. Companies That Are “Information” Only
If they provide you with “ideas” about how you could create a business without offering you all the tools, services, and levels of ongoing support you need to succeed online, you will have a tough time succeeding. Many companies charge you for their information and then tell you you must purchase all sorts of stuff to use the techniques taught.
Is the Norwex Opportunity Just Information Only? NO, Actual retail products can be purchased without signing up to be a consultant.
As you can conclude from the above information, multi-level marketing companies are not all what they claim to be. Too often, people put their hope and trust in someone else making money for them instead of learning how to create prosperity with their online presence. People look for others to rescue them financially when, in reality, YOU have to come to your financial rescue!
There is a platform available that will teach you step by step how to build your own online business, an ethical platform whose primary focus is to help everyday people learn how to make money online, a platform where you can immediately have access to individuals who are highly successful with their online businesses.

One thing you will not hear from Wealthy Affiliate in their training or marketing is “get rich quick.” The reality is that to build a business, you first have to make a solid foundation and understand it. Feel free to reach them directly if you have questions, and of course, as a member, you will have access to them within the community. Which leads me to…
(7) Companies That Don’t Offer Direct Access/Communication with the Owners.
Wealthy Affiliate is the most transparent company in the space and offers you access to Kyle and Carson, the founders, directly within the community. If you want help from them directly, ask. You can even access them for their help and mentorship within the first seven days of the Starter membership…so without paying a dime, you can access both owners directly!
(8) Companies That Are Just “Information”.
Many things are required to build a successful online business, and Wealthy Affiliate includes all of them. To build an online business, you need a website, top-tier hosting, marketing and research tools, ongoing education of the latest marketing strategies, writing tools/platforms, and a way to find the TOP opportunities online. Not to mention support, mentorship, and expertise. These are ALL things that Wealthy Affiliate provides you with any membership level, equipping you to create, grow, and manage a business of any level online.
No other company in the industry offers a free “test drive,” as they likely don’t have the confidence that someone would purchase a trial. WA gives you access to its platforms, websites, hosting, research tools, community, and support within the free membership…so there is ZERO risk, and you can decide if you ever want to purchase a premium membership.
Therefore, in light of the above facts, ask yourself this question: Is there a BETTER way of making money without involving friends or family and hosting parties on a regular basis? Yes, there is. It’s called affiliate marketing.
Learn Affiliate Marketing and Build Your Own Business
The Norwex line of products is excellent, but they are expensive. I still use some of them. However, the network marketing business model is not a good one to follow. That’s not a knock against Norwex products, but network marketing has its own set of challenges.
When you build your OWN affiliate marketing blog or website, YOU control your business entirely because you control the content. All search engines, notably Google, rank websites based on content. You cannot prevent change or edit the content on replicated websites from network marketing companies.
One of the main reasons that I don’t recommend multi-level marketing is that every representative has the same replicated website. Sadly, most MLM reps don’t understand that a replicated or “copied” website will not rank highly on Google. This is HUGE because you won’t get organic traffic from Google. It will view your website as “duplicate content.”
You must understand that when an MLM company uses “replicated websites,” they will ALWAYS be in control of your business! You can’t add relevant content to the done-for-you website because everything has to be approved by the company administrators. Is that what you really want?
