Is Zilis A Scam – What Is Zilis About?
Zilis was founded in Texas in 2015 by Steven Thompson and his wife, Angie Thompson.
Zilis is an MLM company; thus, they do not sell their products through advertising.
Instead, they market and sell their products through independent distributors.
Before Steven founded Zilis, he has run other Multi-Level Marketing companies, including Cyberwize – later called LiveSmart 360.
Steven left LiveSmart 360 after launching Zilis in 2015; LiveSmart folded pretty fast when Steven left to run his newly founded MLM.
Although MLMs are not good business models, joining an MLM whose founder has an identity and experience gives one some level of confidence.
Is Zilis A Scam Or Your Average Network Marketing Company
Zilis is your average multi-level marketing company that offers two ways you can make money. They certainly are not a pure pyramid scheme where all the company sales are derived from existing members’ monthly auto-ship payments or new recruits. The two ways you can make money are:
- Retail commissions
- Bonus and commissions from recruiting and building a team
When some people hear of MLMs, the first thing that comes to their mind is a pyramid scheme. Well, not all MLMs are pyramid schemes, and Zilis is one of the Multi-Level Marketing companies that is not a pyramid scheme.
Zilis is a legit MLM; however, recruitment of new members is the key to making money on the platform. Joining Zilis will cost you $99; however, you will have to make extra payments for the products you want to sell. It’s advisable you go for their cheapest package first to know if this platform is suitable for you and also to see the results to expect. You can go for a higher package later.
The Average Amount Of Money Earned With Zilis Is About $300 Dollars A Year
MLMs that are well-established usually have an income disclosure, which shows the amount of money people make as distributors, the time it took them to earn, and other useful stats. To be completely honest with you, I haven’t seen ONE income disclosure statement from ANY network marketing organization that looked good for the majority of distributors on the bottom end.
This one isn’t good either. There is a line that says the following in the above Income Disclosure Statement: “Based on industry standards, the average annual gross income for Direct Sales distributors averages less than $300.”
The reason is that most people engaged with multi-level marketing lose more money than they make. Only a tiny fraction (at most 0.1%) make a livable income. According to Zilis’ Income Disclosure Statement from 2016, the average distributor earned only $300 dollars USD!
What this means is that in 2016 as a distributor for Zilis you made below a dollar per day. Fast forward to 2022 has the amount of money that the average distributor earned increased? The following statement is from the Zilis 2019 Income Disclosure Statement, which is the most recent one I could find:
An “Active Ambassador” is defined as an Ambassador that placed or sold a commissionable product order in 2019, and, that did not cancel in 2019. The
average annual income for all Ambassadors (active, inactive, cancels) in 2019 was $344.21, and the median annual income for all Ambassadors in 2019 was $0.
From 2016 to 2019 the amount of money made by the average participant increased by a whopping $44.21! Is there any reason to believe these income numbers have improved a great deal for 2022 and beyond? Based on the history of network marketing, probably not.
Zilis Compensation Plan
A common feature in MLMs besides having a low success rate is the compensation plans they offer their members. Their compensation plans are usually complicated as it contains technical languages and charts you may find difficult to understand.
I feel the complications are done on purpose to confuse new distributors so they won’t be able to tell how bad the earning potential really is. Letting you in on all the compensation plans they offer is not that important; however, we will talk about a few of them in this section.

Retail Commissions
The retail commission is one of the surest ways to earn with Zilis, and it involves selling their products straight to customers. You are offered a discount after signing up with Zilis when you make a bulk purchase.
You earn commissions when you sell these products to customers at retail value. The amount of money you will make on the platform is dependent on your rank and the package you paid for when you registered on the platform.
Direct Recruitment Commissions
Another way to receive commission is by recruiting members. Your commission amount depends on the package your recruits opt for. You will earn $20 if you recruit someone under the bronze package, $60 for the silver package, and $120 for the gold package.
Residual Recruitment Commissions
Residual recruitment commissions are paid when your recruits bring new people to join the platform. This type of commission takes a binary structure, which has two sides. To qualify for this commission, recruits on your right and left leg must attain a minimum GV of 300.
The amount you earn here is based on your rank on the platform as well as the package you purchased during registration. The money you will make is capped depending on your affiliate rank. You can make about $10k per week at the highest rank, and $250 per week at the lowest rank.
Residual Commissions
Most of the money you will make from joining Zilis will come from residual commissions. This compensation plan is quite similar to a pyramid scheme. The residual commission has a uni-level commission structure that looks like the image below. The amount you will make depends on your rank as well as the volume of products sold by your team. Each team in Zilis consists of 6 levels or is 6 levels deep.
Zilis Is A Legit Network Marketing Company And Not A Scam
