You are here because you want to know What Is LifeVantage MLM and if you can make money with this opportunity. LifeVantage is a Multi-Level Marketing company that promotes dietary supplements, as well as other health-related products via direct selling.

Is it possible to earn decent amounts through this platform? You will find all the answers in this LifeVantage review. If you have plans to join, you may change your mind once you read this post.

What Is LifeVantage MLM - Can You Sell Health And Wellness?

What Is LifeVantage MLM – About The Company

LifeVantage was formed in 2003, and the headquarter is located in Utah. Darren Jensen is the current CEO of this platform. In the past, Darren has worked for Jeunesse Global and some other multi-level marketing platforms.

Products offered by LifeVantage include dietary supplements, anti-aging products, and other products that promote health and wellness. LifeVantage products are available in Asia, Europe, and the United States.

The company recorded about $3.2 million in revenue in 2008. It also decided to change its business model to a direct selling MLM in 2008. This change has increased its revenue drastically. In 2019, the company made about $226 million in revenue.

LifeVantage Products – Are They Worth It?

What Is LifeVantage MLM - Can You Sell Health And Wellness?

As a distributor, the products you can sell include digestive health, nutrition, supplements, and beauty products. One of the main products offered by this MLM company is Protandim; this dietary supplement contains turmeric, green tea, Bacopa, milk thistle, Ashwagandha, and other herbal ingredients.

According to LifeVantage, this product is all-natural and features antioxidant properties. Protandim contains Protandim NRF1 and NRF2 synergizers, alleged to reduce oxidative stress and decrease aging effects. This highly promoted product accounts for 60% of product sales.

However, there are some problems with this product. First, Protandim may not be completely organic, even though the company claims it is all-natural. Even though the product has natural ingredients, it does not mean they haven’t been treated with pesticides previously.

The company also made claims that using this product can decrease oxidative stress within 30 days by 40% and that the product produces enzymes that can neutralize over 1,000,000 free radicals. However, there have been numerous complaints on the BBB by some individuals who suffered adverse side effects from using this all-natural product. The point is this: The claims regarding the actual effectiveness of Protandim are questionable at best.

How Much Does It Cost To Join?

You will pay $50 to be a distributor on LifeVantage. It is not compulsory to buy a starter pack; however, you will have to buy products worth USD 100 or more. Enrolling in the platform’s auto-ship program is also a requirement.

To qualify for commissions, you will have to order at least 100 PV (personal volume) every month. Can you afford to do that when you are just starting?

Can I Make Money With Lifevantage

After paying $50 to be a distributor, you will enroll in the monthly auto shipment program to remain active on this platform. To qualify for commissions, you will need to pay 100 PV each month. Bringing people in to join LifeVantage is another method to earn.

The more people you bring to join, the higher your rank. When you start as a distributor, you can grow your rank from Pro 1 to Pro 10. The key is to make sure that the people you recruit are also recruiting members of their team.

LifeVantage Pros

Purchasing the starter kit is not compulsory – I like that you don’t have to purchase a starter kit to be a distributor. However, you will have to buy products worth at least USD 100 to begin.

Attractive commissions and bonuses – The commissions you get are based on the Personal Volume generated each month. You can make 30 to 40 percent commission from products bought by new customers/recruits. Also, you will receive a bonus when your recruit pays for a starter kit.

Royalty commissions – you qualify for royalty commissions as you grow in ranks; commissions are derived from your PV every month, and the range is from 2 to 9 percent.

LifeVantage Cons

Expensive starter kits – their starter kits are expensive; the cheapest kit will cost you about $300. Although buying a starter kit is not compulsory, you may be pressured to buy one since purchasing it will earn your sponsor a commission.

Adverse side effects – It must be noted that the products are not FDA-approved. reports of negative side effects by customers who used Protandim NFR2.

Terrible customer service – Reports on the BBB for a long period before they are granted an audience with a company representative. Some customers have also reported these call representatives to be irritating, rude, and less interested in providing solutions to complaints.

Issues with cancellations – Customers cannot cancel their orders online, meaning they will have to contact customer service. Sadly, they can only contact support during working hours from Monday to Friday; they are not operational during weekends. LifeVantage is similar to other multi-level marketing companies I’ve reviewed on this blog such as:

My Verdict – Is LifeVantage Legit?

What Is LifeVantage MLM - Can You Sell Health And Wellness?

Selling products to earn commissions is not an easy task; it requires a lot of effort and hard work, and people can be discouraged when the products they want to sell can be purchased on the internet for the same price or less.

LifeVantage may be legit, but making money on this platform is difficult. More and more consumers are turning to Amazon to look for similar competitively priced products and this trend is only going to increase over time.

Even though your customers may enjoy buying directly from you, they may be less interested in a long-term relationship. Most people only want to test these products for a short period to try their effectiveness and are not interested in the monthly shipment/supply. Building a new business demands hard work, and you need to have confidence in what you do if you want to be successful.

The bottom line is this: To be successful with any MLM, you will have to sell lots of products and recruit many people. There’s no other way around this.

MultiLevel Marketing Is Not A Good Business Model

Contrary to what you are told by your sponsor or the company hype machine, you don’t own or have full control over this business. At the end of the day, you are only helping the company make money.

The money you make from multi-level marketing won’t compensate you for the massive amounts of time and personal resources you expend. I have found affiliate marketing to be an excellent way to learn how to build an online business.

Check out my recommended resource if you need total control over your own business. You will be taught how to run your business from the comfort of your home or anywhere you desire. Also, You will be provided with all the tools you need to succeed. However, there are facts about multi-level marketing you need to understand so you can make a decision based on facts, not emotion.

After an exhaustive study of over 300 MLMs, the Consumer Awareness Institute found that 99% of people who join multi-level marketing companies lose money. That applies to ALL MLMs, the best and the worst companies. Do you understand what that means? Warning: The RED Flags of Schemes and Scams Online

These are some of the things that you need to watch out for with multi-level marketing companies such as LifeVantage, as they are red flags that should not be ignored.

1. The Company Does NOT Offer a FREE Trial

This is a big one to look out for. Many MLMs selling retail products are overpriced and may have yet to be rigorously tested before entering the marketplace. Most information products are worthless, and if you could jump directly into those products and “try them out” before investing in them, you would never invest in low-quality substances. That is why they hide behind a payment. If their information is so good, should they not prove it by giving you a taste?

Does LifeVantage Offer a Free Trial? NO

2. Companies That Don’t Clearly Outline Pricing

If you go to a sales page for a product and they don’t disclose the price clearly, you will likely get “duped.”  Any legitimate company will offer clarity on pricing and have a pricing page on their website.  MANY companies in this industry HIDE their pricing; it is unethical, and it will almost certainly scam you. Also, if the company is charging $ 1,000 for their products, it should be of concern.

Does LifeVantage MLM Opportunity Outline Clear Pricing? YES

3. MLM Companies That Use Video Sales Pages / Squeeze Pages

If you visit a “sales page” and the only thing you see on it is exaggerated promises of quick money, this will almost certainly be an expensive, overpriced scam.  This marketing tactic is used to HIDE pricing and hide the product itself.  They typically ask for your email or a small payment, and then you will be put through an extensive and expensive sales funnel.

Does LifeVantage Use a Video page for their opportunity? YES

4. Companies That Don’t Have a High TrustPilot Rating

LifeVantage has a low Trustpilot rating of 2.9. Trustpilot is where you should get genuine consumer reviews about products/services you plan on buying.  If a company doesn’t exist on this website or has a rating lower than 4.5 out of 5 stars, you may want to seriously reconsider joining. There are going to be better programs and services available without the financial risk.

Does LifeVantage Have a High TrustPilot Rating? NO

5. Multi-Level Marketing Companies That Sell “Riches” Without Telling You the Process

If you are being pushed by the idea that you are going to be “rich” or that you’ll be able to “make money in a short period ” without telling you what you will be doing to earn this money (in a specific way), then they are selling the “sizzle”…and chances are there is no “steak” after you make your purchase. Avoid programs these types of programs like the plague.

Is the LifeVantage Income opportunity confusing? YES

6. Companies Without an Easy Way to Contact Them

If you don’t have a direct way to contact the company to answer questions about their program, they are hiding behind something. That is the first clue, and I recommend you test it. If the company has an email address, email it. If you don’t get a response within 48 hours at most, then that is probably the sort of help you can expect in the future.

Can you easily contact the administrators at LifeVantage? YES

7. Companies That Don’t Offer Direct Access/Communication with the Owners

Who owns the product?  Can you get help and communicate with them directly?  If NOT, then this program is more than likely in the business of taking your money.  CEOs in the opportunity world who are unwilling to communicate with their customers directly have a “too good for you” mentality, which should be avoided.

Can you contact the owner of LifeVantage directly? NO

8. Companies That Are Just “Information”

If they are providing you with “ideas” about how you could create a business without offering you all the tools, services, and levels of ongoing support that you need to succeed online, you will have a tough time succeeding. Many companies charge you for their information and then tell you that you need to purchase all sorts of stuff actually to use the techniques taught.

Is the LifeVantage MLM opportunity just information products? NO

As you can see, LifeVantage as a multi-level marketing company is designed to succeed primarily for the owners and high-level members who joined in the early stages of the company. However, for average people like you and me, financial success will be extremely difficult.

However, there is a platform available that will teach you step by step how to build your own online business, an ethical platform whose primary focus is to help everyday people learn how to make money online, a platform where you can immediately have access to individuals who are highly successful with their online businesses.

Wealthy Affiliate is the most transparent company in the space and offers you access to Kyle and Carson, the founders, directly within the community. If you want help from them directly, ask. No other company in the industry offers a free “test drive,” as they likely don’t have the confidence that someone would purchase a trial.
