Kannaway Sells CBD-Infused Products

Kannaway MLM Review

Kannaway is an MLM company based in California founded in 2014; they offer hemp extract products infused with CBD. As an MLM company, they encourage recruiting individuals to join the platform and build strong downlines. You may be familiar with some CBD (cannabidiol) companies, but Kannaway is completely different from the regular ones you know.

They don’t operate like their competitors that sell products directly to customers; this company has a Multi-Level Marketing strategy. Distributors on the platforms are referred to as Brand Ambassadors; the company does not see them as “business partners” or mere “distributors.” Their mission, as stated on their official site, is to help distributors succeed by distributing their products (CBD-infused).

Their core products are hemp extracts infused with CBD, and they offer different specialized product lines. Other products offered by Kannaway include edibles, vaporizers, and skincare products. They also offer pet products infused with CBD, apparel, and other interesting items. Kannaway was awarded an A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau® (BBB); this award, however, does not mean everything about this company is perfect.

The Compensation Plan Is…Complicated

Many of my colleagues in their blog posts take time to break down the compensation plan on their blogs as if people are going to read that crap. I’ve never understood why on earth are network marketing compensation plans so freaking complicated!

If you want to see the entire Kannaway Compensation Plan, Click Here. To be completely honest with you, complicated network marketing compensation plans are a major reason I’ll never get involved with recruiting for any MLM. Below are all of the ways you earn with Kannaway, and each “bonus” has its detailed explanation. It would send my blood pressure through the roof to try and explain the details of EACH of these commissions! Look at all of the different ways you get paid below:

  • Direct Sales Commissions
  • Direct Sales Bonus (DBS)
  • FastStart 3000 Bonus
  • FastStart 9000 Bonus

Below is a video that explains the Kannaway Compensation Plan. This video can explain it much better than I ever could. WARNING: This video may make your head hurt…

Kannaway Is Not Without Some Controversy

Kannaway was accused in 2014 of trademark infringement by Cannavest (now called CV Sciences, Inc.) – this company also sells CBD oil. In 2015, Medical Marijuana (the firm that also owns Kannaway) accused Steward Environmental, a laboratory based in Colorado, of posting wrong info about the level of toxic solvents in the products offered by the company.

Two years ago, Brand ambassadors in Belgium were penalized by local authorities for selling cannabis oil in the country. According to Het Laatste Nieuws, a Belgian newspaper, Kannaway ambassadors took advantage of severely ill patients and also practiced illegal pyramid schemes.

Is Kannaway a Pyramid Scheme?

Kannaway is a legit MLM company and not a pyramid scheme. They have many products infused with CBD for sale, and their brand ambassadors can choose to direct their focus to selling these products. However, Kannaway has some business areas that are quite similar to a pyramid scheme.

Aside from selling products, the company encourages its ambassadors to recruit members to be part of their downline or team. Ambassadors on the platform are paid commissions anytime a downline or team member sells Kannaway products. Kannaway is a legitimate business opportunity, but it looks more like a pyramid scheme when ambassadors are more focused on recruiting members instead of selling products.

Having a balance between actual retail sales and sales resulting from members’ auto-ship orders is critical. The sad news about MLMs is that only some of their products will sell or perform well in the market. This is because the market is already filled with similar health and wellness products at competitive prices.

As a result, you will end up having to recruit people and build a downline so you can earn as many commissions as possible. Kannaway is similar to other network marketing companies I’ve reviewed such as:

Success Is Not Easy With Network Marketing

Although MLMs are one of the most popular marketing models, that does not mean anyone who joins an MLM company will make millions of dollars. Frankly, you do not make a profit at all.

Please observe these sobering statistics on Multi-Level Marketing:

  • 26%: The meager amount of people who earn a profit participating in MLMs
  • You are 38%: more likely to make money with your own small, home-based business than by joining an MLM
  • 50%: Percentage of MLM reps who quit within 1 year after joining
  • 60%: percentage of people involved with MLM earned less than $500 within the last 5 years of joining
  • There is a 10% – 20% higher rate of making a profit with an online business than it joining an MLM
  • You would have a 300 times higher chance of winning a game of roulette in Las Vegas from 1 single spin of the wheel than you would make a profit with an MLM
  • 99%: According to the Federal Trade Commission this is the number of all MLM participants who lose money
  • 47%: The number of participants who flat-out lose money according to the AARP Foundation
  • 27%: the percentage of people who make no money whatsoever in an MLM – AARP Foundation
  • 53%: This is the percentage of MLM participants who earn less than $5000 a year
  • 39%: the number of people who QUIT MLMs because trying to sell services and products to family and friends damaged their relationships
  • 95%: The respective number of reps who quit within 10 years
  • 75%: The number of people who after participating in an MLM said that never again would they join another MLM in their life
  • 1,049: The number of MLM reps who make less than 70 cents an hour according to a 2018 poll of MLM reps representing various companies
  • 20%: of people involved with MLMs never made a sale
  • 32% of people involved with MLM financed their MLM “business” by getting into credit card debt

The truth is only a tiny fraction of people who join MLMs make money from it, and a lot of people are deceived into investing their precious time and money in this business model. If you look at the market right now, it is filled with competitors and saturated with lots of CBD-infused products; thus, selling Kannaway products could be a difficult task.

In the end, you will be left with selling the products you buy to your friends/family and recruiting new members (family, friends, or neighbors). Even after recruiting people, your success on this MLM platform is not certain as most of the people you recruit may lack the required skills to secure a successful sale.

Cost to Become a Member Of Kannaway

Kannaway offers prospects an opportunity to own a business without spending a fortune as capital. The annual brand ambassador fee on this platform costs $54.98.

Registration also comes with some added benefits. Distributors on the platform start as brand ambassadors. They climb the ranks gradually to directors, senior directors, executive directors, and other higher ranks when they make a certain amount of money and recruit a given number of members on the platform.

The Double Crown Ambassador Elite is the highest rank on the platform. Regardless of your rank on the platform, you will still pay 54.98 USD for the Annual Brand Ambassador Business Fee. Some people may register on the platform because they were compelled to, and they agreed to prevent you from disturbing their peace.

Others may sign up because they were drawn to the possibilities of making easy money on the platform, but they can’t continue any longer after having a true feel of this business opportunity. Also, Kannaway did not publish its income disclosure statements.

Where Are The Income Disclosure Statements?

Why are Income Disclosure Statements important? Income Disclosure Statements allow the general public to see how many people are making money and how much they’re making. I’ve always had a rule never to endorse an MLM that won’t show their Income Disclosure Statements.

Nonetheless, what the Income Disclosure Statement would show you is the success rate in Kannaway is rare. This is true for 98% of network marketing companies in existence today. Most MLMs may be legit, but their business model/strategy is flawed (there is no guarantee for success).

This is why I won’t advise you or anyone else to be a part of any company that employs Multi-Level Marketing as a core business strategy.

Warning: The RED Flags of Schemes and Scams Online

It would be best to watch out for these things with multi-level marketing companies, as they are red flags you should not ignore. Taking note of these eight signs can save you considerable time and money.

  1. A FREE Trial Is NOT Offered By the Company

This is a big one to look out for. Many MLMs that sell retail products are overpriced and may not have been rigorously tested before going out into the marketplace. Most information products are worthless, and if you could jump directly into those products and “try them out” before investing in them, you would never invest in low-quality substances. That is why they hide behind a payment. If their information is so good, should they not prove it by giving you a taste?

Does Kannaway MLM Opportunity Offer a Free Trial? NO

2. Companies That Don’t Clearly Outline Pricing

If you go to a sales page for a product and they don’t disclose the price clearly, you will likely get “duped.”  Any legitimate company will offer clarity on pricing and have a pricing page on their website.  MANY companies in this industry HIDE their pricing; it is unethical, and it will almost certainly scam you. Also, if the company charges hundreds or even thousands of dollars for their products or for joining their business “opportunity,” it should be of concern.

Does Kannaway MLM Opportunity Outline Clear Pricing? YES

3. MLM Companies That Use Video Sales Pages / Squeeze Pages

If you visit a “sales page” and the only thing you see on it is exaggerated promises of quick money, this will almost certainly be an expensive, overpriced scam.  This marketing tactic is used to HIDE pricing and hide the product itself.  They typically ask for your email or a small payment, and then you will be put through an extensive and expensive sales funnel.

Does Kannaway Use a Video page for their opportunity? NO

4. Companies That Don’t Have a High TrustPilot Rating

Kannaway has a Trustpilot rating of 3.3, which is a low rating. TrustPilot is where you should get real consumer reviews about products/services you plan on buying.  If a company doesn’t exist on this website or has a rating lower than 4.5 out of 5 stars, you may want to seriously reconsider joining. There are going to be better programs and services available without the financial risk.

Does Kannaway Have a High TrustPilot Rating? NO

5. Multi-Level Marketing Companies That Sell “Riches” Without Telling You the Process

If you are being pushed by the idea that you are going to be “rich” or that you’ll be able to “make money in a short period of time” without telling you what you will be doing to earn this money (in a specific way), then they are selling the “sizzle”…and chances are there is no “steak” after you make your purchase. Avoid programs these types of programs like the plague.

Is the Kannaway Income opportunity promote “make money quick”? NO

6. Companies Without an Easy Way to Contact Them

If you don’t have a direct way to contact the company to answer questions about their program, they are hiding behind something. That is the first clue, and I recommend you test it. If the company has an email address, email it. If you don’t get a response within 48 hours at most, then that is probably the sort of help you can expect in the future.

Can you easily contact the administrators at Kannaway? YES

7. Companies That Don’t Offer Direct Access/Communication with the Owners

Who owns the product?  Can you get help and communicate with them directly?  If NOT, then this program is more than likely in the business of taking your money.  CEOs in the opportunity world who are unwilling to communicate with their customers directly have a “too good for you” mentality, which should be avoided.

Can you contact the owner of Kannaway directly? NO

8. Companies That Are Just “Information”

If they are providing you with “ideas” about how you could create a business without offering you all the tools, services, and levels of ongoing support that you need to succeed online, you will have a tough time succeeding. Many companies charge you for their information and then tell you that you need to purchase all sorts of stuff actually to use the techniques taught.

Is the Kannaway MLM opportunity just information? NO

My rating of Kannaway as a CBD multi-level marketing business is 4 out of 8.

As you can conclude from the above information, multi-level marketing companies are not all what they claim to be. Too often, people put their hope and trust in someone else making money for them instead of learning how to leverage the power of the internet with their own online presence. People look for others to rescue them financially when, in reality, YOU have to come to your financial rescue!

However, there is a BETTER OPTION if you want to create your own online business. There is a platform available that will teach you step by step how to build your own online business, an ethical platform whose primary focus is to help everyday people learn how to make money online, a platform where you can immediately have access to individuals who are highly successful with their online businesses. Introducing Wealthy Affiliate, The Industry Leader in the Online Business Space…

WealthyAffiliate.com has a 4.8 STAR rating on TrustPilot. The owners personally get back to every comment, and this leads to the industry. It is tough to achieve a rating like this in any industry, let alone the make-money-online niche.

(5) Companies That Sell “Riches”.

One thing you will not hear from Wealthy Affiliate in their training or marketing is “get rich quick.”  The reality is that to build a business, you first have to build a solid foundation and understand it. Still, it would be best if you were realistic about the process. It will take some hard work and dedication.

(6) Companies Without an Easy Way to Contact Them.

You can contact Wealthy Affiliate directly from their website without being a member. They have a contact form, and the owners freely share their email addresses if you need to contact them or have any questions. They are kyle@wealthyaffiliate.com and carson@wealthyaffiliate.com. Feel free to reach them directly if you have questions, and of course, as a member, you will have access to them within the community. Which leads me to…

(7) Companies That Don’t Offer Direct Access/Communication with the Owners.

Wealthy Affiliate is the most transparent company in the space and offers you access to Kyle and Carson, the founders, directly within the community. If you want help from them directly, ask. You can even access them for their help and mentorship within the first seven days of the Starter membership…so without paying a dime, you can access both owners directly!

(8) Companies That Are Just “Information”.

Many things are required to build a successful online business, and Wealthy Affiliate includes all of them.  To build an online business, you need a website, top-tier hosting, marketing and research tools, ongoing education of the latest marketing strategies, writing tools/platforms, and a way to find the TOP opportunities online.  Not to mention support, mentorship, and expertise.  These are ALL things that Wealthy Affiliate provides you with any membership level, equipping you to create, grow, and manage a business of any level online.

No other company in the industry offers a free “test drive,” as they likely don’t have the confidence that someone would purchase a trial. WA gives you access to its platforms, websites, hosting, research tools, community, and support within the free membership…so there is ZERO risk, and you can decide if you ever want to purchase a premium membership.

Therefore, in my opinion, what is the best strategy for moving forward in? The best strategy is to build your own affiliate marketing business through Wealthy Affiliate.

Build An Online Business That You Control

Control. Everybody wants to have control. Here’s a little secret: When you become a representative for an MLM company, you relinquish control of your business to someone else. How can that be when you’re constantly told “This is your business?”

Here’s the key point: It’s the website. The website you’re provided, regardless of the network marketing company, belongs to them. What you’re given is a “replicated website.” It’s the same website that all the other reps are given. Therefore, Google, Yahoo, and Bing look at these websites as duplicate content.

The search engines hate these types of websites. You can’t get free, organic traffic from them. You’re unable to add relevant content. The only way you can get meaningful traffic is to buy traffic, and that’s expensive. This is one of the main reasons why there’s such an emphasis on personal recruiting.

Your website is useless as far as SEO is concerned – you cannot set it up to receive free, organic traffic. Therefore, the bottom line is that you are NOT in complete control of your business. Create a FREE account at Wealthy Affiliate and build your affiliate marketing website. Take REAL control of your business without the hassles associated with network marketing. For me, it was the best business decision I’ve made. I hope it will be for you as well.

Talk Soon,

Howard
